We’ve all heard the phrase, “the holidays are a time for giving.” We’d like to extend that concept beyond just our friends and loved ones to members of our greater community less fortunate than ourselves. This holiday season, Prosper is proud to host a food drive for Brooklynites in need. Members can drop off non-perishable food goods to our Bushwick and Crown Heights locations. Donations will be collected and taken to CAMBA, a non-profit whose Beyond Hunger Emergency Food Pantry feeds over 4,300 a month. The pantries operate on a client-choice/supermarket-style system, where clients choose individual food items rather than receiving pre-packed bags, as they would at traditional pantries. Three-day supplies of nutritional food are distributed, which is critical for clients unable to maintain a healthy diet otherwise.The Holidays often mean more traffic than usual, so round up some canned goods to assist those in need. Every bit helps!
